Vodacom MD moves to Vodafone

Vodacom has announce that Shameel Aziz Joosub, executive director of the Vodacom Group and Managing Director (MD) of Vodacom SA will be taking up the post of CEO of Vodafone Spain from 1 April 2011.

As Vodafone Spain is considered one of Vodafone’s largest operating companies, Joosub will also step down from the board of the Vodacom Group and resign as MD of Vodacom SA at the end of March 2011.

Peter Moyo, chairman of Vodacom Group, congratulated Joosub on the move.

“While Shameel will be sorely missed, he has been presented with an exciting opportunity as CEO of Vodafone Spain and we wish him much success in his new role,” he said.

The operator also announced that a process has been initiated to identify Joosub’s replacement at Vodacom SA.

    Only 38 fully functional Thusong centres - DPSA

    Only 38 connected Thusong centres are fully functional and are providing a wide range of key public services, says the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA).

    Speaking during her budget vote speech, acting Public Service and Administration minister, Mildred Oliphant, revealed that out of 100 ICT connected Thusong service centres across the country, 50 were validated and only 38 were declared fully functional.
