FNB App available on Nokia
Two months after the introduction of their smartphone and tablet Banking Application, First National Bank (FNB) has announced that the App is now also available on Nokia Symbian smartphones – making the App available on all major operating systems.
FNB clients who have Nokia Symbian touchscreen phones are now able to download the FNB App for free from the Nokia OVI Store.
The App, which was designed and built in-house by FNB, was initially available on three mobile operating systems, namely iOS (Apple); Research In Motion (BlackBerry) and Android.
“With the addition of Nokia Symbian, we were able to cover all major Operating Systems within record time. This is no small feat and testimony to the in house skills and capabilities we have built up. This is just the beginning of a long and exciting product roadmap for the App,” says Farren Roper, head of products and markets at FNB Connect.
Earlier this month the bank announced that the App had seen close to 30 000 paired devices since it was first introduced – and that it averaged more than 500 downloads per day.
Roper adds that the FNB App has a roadmap, centred on delivering customer value.
“Our customers are the nucleus of our development cycle. To be able to cover as many devices as possible, but more importantly to constantly innovate based on customer needs means that they are an important stakeholder in the deployment of new functionality. This has been the catalyst for the success of the App to date,” concludes Roper.
