Following the recent introduction of new broadband packages, mobile provider, 8.ta, has launched five Internet Saver data packages in an effort to offer customers great value for money.

The Internet Saver is a hybrid offer, meaning that the Internet Saver plan is a data contract package with a monthly recurring data bundle which also behaves like a pre-paid package once the recurring data bundle is depleted.

The packages are available on a 12 or 24 month contract which includes a free modem and users can also opt for a month to month contract however; a modem is not included in the offer.

“The Internet Saver plan is ideal for individuals who want to control their Internet spending. The package is also well suited for businesses that only want the responsibility of paying for in-bundle usage, leaving the out-of-bundle usage costs to the employees,” says Amith Maharaj, managing executive of Telkom Mobile.

Subscribers pay for the subscriptions upfront with a bundle validity of the current month.  Any extra top-up data packages purchased are charged out of their pre-paid wallets and is valid for up to 2 months. Subscribers also have the option to continue at an out-of-bundle rate of R1 per MB until the allocated data gets replenished at the beginning of the month.

Internet Saver customers will also enjoy free 8.ta email account with 5GB mailbox giving users access to 25GB online storage; free access to online Microsoft Office suite, which includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint and be able to send 5 SMSs daily and receive 50 FREE SMSs to use on that day.

To manage their online data usage, subscribers have access to 8.ta’s self service web portal or the USSD functionality on their devices to check their balances, top up bundles and to ensure that the bundles are optimally managed.
