Zuma backs labour broking review
While job creation is paramount, workers rights would also receive special attention through changes to the current labour legislation, says President Jacob Zuma.
Speaking during his State of the Nation Address last night, Zuma noted that worker security was key in government’s aim to create decent work.
Referring to the controversial amendment bills published on 17 December 2010, which are aimed at regulating labour broking in the market and increasing permanent jobs for workers – Zuma noted that a review of legislation was necessary.
